New Cross People’s Library is a community run library, writing, arts, and IT centre supported by Bold Vision. We have won a temporary licence from Lewisham Council to operate from the 10th of August.
We’ve lined up an exciting program of events – do check out what’s on.
In the eight week tenancy we are running a series workshops and other artistic activities.
Please come along and support us. This is our opportunity to prove that we can make this work. We hope the Council will then grant us a tenancy at will for nine months. We are also fundraising in this period.
New Cross is a deprived area with high levels of illiteracy and the Library provided vital social and educational services. Some 50% of the library users are BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) and 70% are aged under 35. Our aim is to make these services available once again to the community.
